GM Series Rod Mill
Product Features
The GM Series Straight-Cylinder Rod Mill is mainly used for coarse grinding or primary grinding operations in mineral processing plants. It is widely applied in iron ore, gold ore, tungsten ore, tin ore, and the manufactured sand and aggregate industry.
-In mineral processing plants, it is generally used for handling coarse particle materials, preventing excessive grinding.
-In sand and aggregate production, it is commonly used to produce sand with uniform particle size, reducing fines and improving product quality.
Advantages:
-Uniform particle size, reduced over-grinding:
Compared with ball mills, rod mills use steel rods as grinding media. Grinding involves more line contact and less point contact, resulting in a more uniform particle size and significantly reduced over-grinding.
-Strong adaptability:
Especially suitable for brittle materials and ores that require controlled particle size, such as quartz, placer gold ores, and iron ores.
-Energy-efficient and high-performance:
With higher grinding efficiency and more concentrated particle size distribution, it improves recovery rates in subsequent beneficiation stages (such as flotation, gravity separation, and magnetic separation), thereby reducing energy consumption and processing costs.
Selection Guidelines
1.Based on feed size and product size requirements:
-Rod mills are ideal when strict particle size control is needed.
-For finer grinding to smaller sizes, a ball mill is recommended.
2.Based on processing capacity and ore characteristics:
-For high-hardness ores and large throughput, choose larger or higher-power models.
-For brittle materials or when particle size control is critical, a rod mill is the preferred choice.
